Kayak Pittsburgh for Fun on the Water

Kayak Pittsburgh, located under the 6th Street Bridge, is a project with Venture Outdoors that rents kayaks on the downtown rivers.  The kayaks that are available are flat-water kayaks – they are longer and more stable than the whitewater kayaks that most people think of. We like to describe the flat-water kayaks as similar to canoes but easier to steer.

Kayaking is easy to learn and is great for beginners. No experience is necessary and most folks learn how to manage a kayak in 10 to 15 minutes.

2012 Venture Outdoors Festival

 Venture Outdoors is sponsoring a day full of outdoor activities on Saturday, May 19th at Point State Park. The 2012 Venture Outdoors Festival is fun for the whole family. MLK Food Drive

VisitPittsburgh is sponsoring our 9th annual MLK Hospitality Food Drive January 3-31, 2012. Donate items to benefit the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and make a difference.

The goal for 2012 is to collect 8,000 lbs. of food to serve thousands of individuals in need. You can help us reach the goal by dropping off your non-perishable food, personal hygiene and household products at one of the many collection centers including the newly opened WELCOME Pittsburgh Information Center + Gift Shop.

Requested staples include:
